Royal roof window
Royal roof windows with a central rotation axis were developed by designers to meet the expectations of the most demanding customers and the requirements of rooms that also have increased humidity (kitchens and bathrooms). Modern technologies and state of the art window design techniques guarantee full satisfaction for the window user.
Roof windows made with the Royal Window Profiles system are fully ecological, energy-saving, and long-lasting. They feature high aesthetics, excellent tightness and unique heat and acoustic insulation. Multi-chamber profiles made of cadmium-free and lead-free high-impact PVC and stabilizing agents provide high durability and resistance to temperature fluctuations, very high resistance to mechanical damage, impacts, abrasions, scratches, resistance to biological attacks (fungi, bacteria, insects, etc.). New technologies used in the production process guarantee a long and failure-free life, and the structures are reinforced inside by galvanized steel cores preventing any deformation and providing high stability for the window.
Characteristics of Royal roof windows
On the outside the standard roof window is screened by profiles made of aluminum sheet protected by two-sided polyester coating which increases the durability of metal cover strips and protects against atmospheric attack. Profiles are extruded from aluminum sheet which also increases resistance to mechanical damage. Metal cover strips are finished in graphite color (RAL 7024) which is in fashion now and which suits all colours and kinds of roofing. It is also possible to apply metal cover strips in other colours of the RAL palette or metal cover strips made of titanium-zinc or copper. Two kinds of sealing flange provide assembly of the window in two depths – corrugated and flat roofing at tilt angles from 15° to 90°.
Standard Royal windows are glazed with thermal insulation glass packs with a SWISSPACER warm edge spacer in order to eliminate heat leakage bridges. It is a one-chamber pack – 4H-16-4T – with external hardened glass and internal low-emission glass with the overall heat-transfer coefficient Uof glass = 1.0 [W/m2K] according to EN 674. It is also possible to glaze windows with other glass packs of thickness from 24 mm to 32 mm.
An innovatory locking mechanism located inside the profile enables one to shut a window in a very tight and safe manner. A handle with a casement bolt and hinges locks a sash in four or six points (depending on which kind) in the window frame. An additional advantage of such a solution is the possibility of placing a window in two extra positions – micro-ventilation and ventilation, and a special shape of metal cover strips guarantees water tightness in the both positions.
Royal windows may be provided with an intake ventilator in the window frame to adjust air entering a room, 5m3/h or 21m3/h. A blocking mechanism located in the top of a sash enables one to open a window at an angle of 180° for easy cleaning of the external glass with a person standing in the room. A special design of hinge provides adjustment of the window with no need to disassemble the roofing and the outside metal work of the window.
