Taking care of the health and natural environment
In 1997, the European Committee ordered some European research institutions to make an analyze of problems connected with results of dangerous impact on the natural environment and the human health caused by lead and cadmium stabilizing agents used in the production process of PVC profiles
Results of tests were published 3 years after that in a form of a document called "The Green Book of PVC". There most of compounds of cadmium and lead were classified as dangerous for the health and the natural environment, toxic and concurring to occur cancers. Similar opinions were included in the directive of the European Union (67/548/EWG
Unfortunately, compounds of lead and cadmium were commonly used in the process of window profiles stabilizing in the initial period. In the nineties, due to the proved dangerous influence on the health, cadmium compounds started to be withdrawn from production, while lead compounds were still used. In the mid of the nineties zinc-calcium stabilizing agents started to be used which at present are applied commonly. However the newest solutions are profiles extruded based on zinc stabilizing agents mainly in the USA and Canada
Royal Europa eliminated heavy ,metals, including cadmium and lead, dangerous for the human health and the natural environment, and started to use friendly stabilizing agents made on the tin-organic basis, as the only company in the Polish market
